A new study by SeatPick, a trusted tickets comparison site, has identified Tottenham Hotspur as the Premier League club offering the best and worst value for money on season tickets.
The analysis examined the cost of watching defeat for fans of all 20 Premier League clubs by calculating how much of their season ticket price is effectively spent on matches their team loses.
Liverpool offers the best value for money, with fans spending just £25.46 on defeats. The Merseyside club has lost only 3.6% of their matches this season while charging £713 for their cheapest season ticket.
Arsenal ranks second-best for value despite having the most expensive cheapest season ticket in the league at £1,073. With the Gunners losing just 11.1% of their matches, fans effectively spend £119.22 on defeats.
Crystal Palace offers the third-best value, with fans spending £123.33 on losses from a £370 season ticket, while Manchester City (£125.93) and Brighton & Hove Albion (£132.22) complete the top five for the best value.

At the other end of the scale, Spurs supporters with the cheapest adult season ticket (£856) spend £443.85 watching their team lose, with the North London club suffering defeat in 51.9% of their matches so far this season.
Southampton ranks second, with fans spending £406.59 on losses despite having a cheaper season ticket at £499. The south coast club has lost 81.5% of their matches this season, the worst record in the league.
Wolverhampton Wanderers completes the top three, with fans paying £330.56 to watch defeats from a £525 season ticket, with the team losing 63% of matches.
The top five worst-value tickets are completed by Leicester City, where fans spend £315.33 on losses, and Manchester United, where supporters spend £257.33 watching defeats.
Gilad Zilberman, CEO of SeatPick, commented on the findings:
“Our research shows the stark contrast in value that football fans get across the Premier League. Some supporters are spending over £400 just to watch their team lose, which puts the financial commitment of loyal fans into perspective.
“What stands out is that the price of the season ticket alone doesn’t determine value. Teams with strong performance records like Liverpool and Arsenal give fans good value despite higher initial costs, while clubs with high loss rates like Southampton mean fans pay dearly for defeats.
“The most successful clubs tend to charge more for tickets, but the data shows this premium is often justified by fewer defeats. For fans considering a season ticket purchase, looking at a club’s recent performance trend alongside ticket prices gives a much clearer picture of the actual value you might receive.” – Seatpick.com
Methodology:
The Premier League team’s season ticket that has the worst value for money was calculated and ranked. Match data for the 2024/25 season of the Premier League was scraped from the Premier League website. For each team, the percentages of matches won, lost, and tied were calculated. The cheapest adult season ticket prices for the 2024/25 season per team were gathered from either each team’s website or GiveMeSport. Per team, the price of the cheapest adult season ticket was split by the team’s percentage of matches lost to get the price spent on team losses. This was then ranked from highest to lowest. Family tickets were not included, and it was assumed that each season ticket was from a new purchase and not from a renewal.
