The local equities market’s total market capitalization moved up 8.7% to $128 billion as it opened the holiday-shortened week on the rise.
The main All Share index continued the trend from lask week opening the new week on a positive note after gaining a significant 80.74 points (or 8.84%) close at 993.98 points.
The index gained on the back of improved performances in Innscor Holdings, which added $2.5764 to $16.4225, Delta Corporation, which rose by $2.3598 to end at $14.3706 and giant insurer Old Mutual, which was $1.5620 stronger at $76.2285.
Also on the up was Seed-Co International, which increased by $1.5300 to settle at $9.1900 and AFDIS, which traded $1.4400 higher at $8.6400.
Trading in the negative was Meikles, which lost $0.2262 to $9.9571, ART Corporation, which eased $0.1492 to $1.3746 and construction firm Masimba Holdings, which was $0.0477 weaker at $0.7250.
Giant retailer OK Zimbabwe also decreased by $0.0299 to $4.0060 and Dawn Properties, which was $0.0130 lower at $0.2370.
Turnover reached a year high of $63.31 million in a single session.
