Zimbabwe government representatives will meet Civil Servants representatives for a possible salary review meeting next week in the Capital.

In the last meeting, government employees had demanded United States dollar salaries which the government declined stating limited financial resources.

However, at the time the government awarded civil servants a US$75 Covid-19 allowance for at least a three month period, while pensioners got US$30.

Apex Council chairperson Cecelia Alexanda said she had been contacted by a government official and the meeting has definitely been scheduled for next week.

“Its good that we are meeting next week, we will start from where we ended in our last meeting and our expectations should be clear.

“It is clear that there are a lot of things that have not been met and we still stand with our proposal of being paid in United States dollars.”

The civil servants also demanded that their salaries should be revised to October 2018 when the local currency was one is to one with the greenback.

“Our salaries should be pegged at what we have been earning in October 2018,” she said.
