A local tech company, which specialises in premium solar systems and borehole drilling, “Shinko Afrika” has said they aim to remove as many households in Zimbabwe off the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (Zesa) grid and enable Zesa to efficiently and effectively power local industries.
They are powering these households with solar power, SunMax solar brands being their brand they are pushing.
In an interview with Shinko Afrika Business Development Officer Ermyntrude Sithole she said that they have initiated talks with Zesa and so far, they have been given a green light.
“We are aiming to power as many households as possible and remove them off the Zesa grid. We are not just supplying any kind of solar systems this is why we are in talks to partner Zesa.
“The brand we are pushing SunMax is unlike many other solar systems, it goes that extra mile. And we are now in the process of proving ourselves to Zesa, soon after they have given us their word that they will endorse us,” she said.
“This is a national plight, we are helping feeding into the national grid, powering our nation, we all know that Zesa has been overwhelmed and our aim is for them to focus on powering our industries in the long run, when they endorse us. So far, we have been successfully assessed by the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA),” said Sithole.
Shinko is a Japanese word meaning faith, the owners said the brand represents their faith in Africa. The company was Incorporated in February 2019, the outfit has taken the market by storm and is now one the most exciting entities in the Solar Industry.
