Zimbabwean start-up, Munch Zimbabwe is revolutionizing (read “simplifying”) the process of ordering food from restaurants in the country’s capital.

And its co-founder has gone beyond borders to look for more inspiration.

Tatenda Jakarasi recently attended the Afrobytes conference in Paris where tech startups with ventures based in Africa converged to connect with investors.

Afrobytes 2019 included large funds, such as Partech Africa and Edge who participated in the conference.

Munch Zimbabwe co-founder Tatenda Jakarasi, said attending the Afrobytes conference was a great opportunity to engage with not only investors but also startups that are leading the way with new and exciting technologies from around the world.

“With the exponential growth taking place within the African startup space, Munch Zimbabwe plans to become one of the biggest on demand food delivery company to come out of Africa, said Mr Jakarasi.”

Munch Zimbabwe was founded in 2017 and to date partners with established restaurants such as Pariah, Antonios, Pizzazz, Mug & Bean and Shangri-la.

“We expanded our offering last year and launched our service in Victoria Falls to connect morehungry customers with their favourite food options, our ultimate goal is to reach more doorsteps and work with more restaurants.

Munch has developed a web-based platform and mobile application that allows people to search for their favourite restaurant, select their food, and pay within the application or on delivery. Once an order has been made through the app, Munch drivers will pick the food up from the restaurant and deliver it to the customer.

Foodies can also place orders in advance for pick-up.
