In a move to curb the spread of the global pandemic Covid – 19,Cabinet has agreed that boarding school students should not  travel  to their homes for the Easter holidays.
The learners should stay at their respective schools, given the congestion anticipated on public transport during holidays.
The decision comes as a great relief to parents as they do not have to fork out more money to finance the travelling of students who recently opened schools.

“As a parent I would want to applaud the government for such a bold move which will go a longway in making sure that as a nation we curb the transmission and spread of Covid – 19.

“Many at times when people are on holiday a lot happens and others will not observe the health guideliness which might put other students at risk and also the move will allow more study time to students since most of them had gone for almost a year possibly doing online learning,” said Norris Dube from Bulawayo.

On the other hand some students also expressed joy with the government pronouncement.

“I am happy with the development because we have been home for a longtime and we have a lot of ground to cover especially the examination classes.

“There is more to life if we look at destiny which is at hand and the points that most of us are aiming to produce. I do not mind having to be at school as long as we are supported with the right things we need l believe as students we dont mind being at school, “said Nomsa Zuze an A level student from Harare.
