Musicians in Zimbabwe have been given the greenlight to hold live shows but under strict conditions.

A maximum of 50 revellers will be allowed to attend a live concert.

This comes 14 months after a ban on live performances due to Covid-19.

Deputy Minister of Youth, Sport Arts and Recreation Tino Machakaire announced this in a Facebook post soon after meeting President Mnangagwa at State House today.

He said, “All artists have been given the green light to start performing considering they do not exceed the stipulated number of 50.”

Machakaire did not however say when the latest developments will take effect but urged caution.

“May we also not abuse this privilege and ensure that we adhere to the WHO and National COVID 19 task force regulations outlined.”

As at 09 June 2021, Zimbabwe had 39 432 confirmed cases, including 36 917 recoveries and 1 622 deaths.
