In a positive development, the Ruwa community churches have joined hands with the Ruwa local board to advocate for better services and community development in the area.
The collaboration was recently witnessed as the Ruwa Pastors Fraternal gathered at the Ruwa local board main council office for a day of prayer, together with the local board authorities, including the Ruwa Mayor.
The partnership between the Ruwa community churches and the Ruwa local board is a positive step towards improved services and community development in 2024.
The collaboration aims to address issues such as drug abuse among young people and enhance service delivery in the area.
In an interview the Ruwa Mayor councillor Michael Mataruka expressed his support for this partnership, stating that the churches are an integral part of the community.
He emphasised that the churches’ involvement in supporting and praying for the development of the area in 2024 will contribute to positive changes.
One of the key prayer points discussed during the event was the issue of young people succumbing to drug abuse.
The local board authorities are committed to taking further steps to provide young people with activities that occupy their minds and help them stay away from drugs.
“The churches are part of the community, so this partnership with the churches is a partnership with the community, towards improved service delivery, fighting drug and substance abuse, and the development of our areas in Ruwa.
“This is a good sign as we begin the New Year 2024 and a sign that things can only get better,” said Mayor Mataruka.
The Ruwa local board plays a crucial role in providing services to the community.
They are responsible for various aspects, including infrastructure development, waste management, water supply, and more.
The collaboration with the churches will further enhance their efforts to improve service delivery and address community needs.
To enhance service delivery, the Ruwa local board encourages residents to pay their bills promptly.
