STUDENTS from various schools in Harare recently had the opportunity to enhance their business acumen at a Literature Seminar hosted by Irene Christian College (ICC) in Marlborough.

The seminar, which brought together students from ICC, Tynwald High School, and Winwood College, was strategically aimed at not only improving the students’ understanding and skills in Literature in English exams, but also to equip them with essential business skills.

Organised by ICC, the seminar focused on providing a comprehensive workshop to help students excel in their literature studies, emphasizing the development of critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills, all of which are highly valued in the business world.

During the seminar, attendees were divided into groups and tasked with preparing presentations on various aspects of the literature curriculum.

This exercise not only honed their presentation and public speaking skills but also fostered teamwork and collaboration – essential skills in any business setting.

The judging and facilitation of the presentations were carried out by teachers from the participating schools, who provided valuable feedback to help the students refine their comprehension, critical analysis, and essay-writing abilities.

These are critical skills that can be directly applied to business scenarios, where clear communication and analytical thinking are paramount.

One of the key highlights of the event was the opportunity for the participants to share ideas, collaborate, and support each other.

This collaborative environment is a reflection of the teamwork and synergy required in the business world, where individuals often work together to achieve common goals.

In a statement, Irene Christian College stressed the significance of such seminars, emphasizing their role in empowering students with the essential skills and knowledge needed not only to excel in their literature studies but also to succeed in the business world.

The college highlighted that the collaborative learning, exchange of ideas, and valuable feedback from experienced teachers are not only beneficial in academic settings but also in preparing students for the challenges of the professional world.

Literature seminars like these are crucial for students as they provide a platform for collaborative learning, exchange of ideas, and valuable feedback from experienced teachers.
