The local equities market’s All Share Index continued on an upward trend, despite the debilitating effects of the Covid-19 on the local economy.
The main index gained 2.12 points (0.43%) to close at 500 points in today’s trades on the back of positive performances in NatFoods, which gained $0.8000 to $27.5000, hotelier Meikles, which rose by $0.3500 to $6.5000.
Also trading in the black was giant insurer Old Mutual Limited, which recovered $0.2778 to $41.2778.
Crocodile skin manufacturer Padenga also went up, gaining $0.1899 to $5.5900 as well as Turnall, which was $0.04300 stronger at $0.2580.
Trading in the negative was Hippo Valley, which lost $0.4000 to $5.4000, and Nampak eased $0.0045 to $0.9905 after announcing some board changes today.
Nickel producer Bindura traded $0.0022 lower to $0.5278.
Also trading in the red was First Capital Bank, which decreased by $0.0017 to $0.2123 and StarAfrica Corporation, which was $0.0001 lower at $0.0800.
The bourse’s market capitalization closed the week at $64.7 billion.
