Harare Magistrate Brenda Dhliwayo has ordered Harare City Council to pay Harare man Jerasi Dzenga ZW$ 123 400 after he broke his leg in 2018.
68-year-old Jerasi Dzenga fell into an exposed storm water drain in Harare Central Business District and sustained injuries.
Doctors advised that he requires further surgery to implant rods and screws to restore functionality to his legs.
Fiona Illif lawyer for Dzenga said there it has been two years of pain for her client and wishes that he urgently gets surgery.
“He had surgery but he still has disability and requires further surgery because there was no union of bones so he requires rods and screws if he is to restore full functionality of his leg.
“After surgery he was incapacitated for two months and still he is unable to walk without crutches and it has been two years in pain so we hope he can urgently get this surgery,” he said.
